What has shipped in KeyGlance, and when. KeyGlance enters a client's paperwork into TaxCycle, Taxprep Desktop, ProFile, Taxprep Cloud and DT Max today; Cantax is in progress.
How it gets into your tax software
TaxCycle goes through TaxCycle’s own built-in Excel import, which AI Assistant runs for you. Using the import TaxCycle itself supports is what makes it fast, efficient and scalable: a whole form goes in at once, and it keeps working through TaxCycle’s frequent updates in season.
ProFile has no spreadsheet import on a T1, so AI Assistant uses desktop automation: it enters each figure into its field after ProFile confirms that field’s own code, then reads the value back.
Taxprep Cloud goes through its own import, in your signed-in browser: AI Assistant finds the return by SIN or creates it, imports the figures, and reads every value back.
DT Max has no file import, so AI Assistant enters each figure through DT Max’s own keyword entry, after DT Max names the field, and reads it back.
On every program, AI Assistant confirms the client, the tax year and the field before anything is entered, stops the moment the window changes, and reports success only after reading the result back. It never files anything with the CRA.

Cantax. Support for Wolters Kluwer Cantax is in progress.
Taxprep Desktop. Support for the Wolters Kluwer Taxprep desktop program is in progress. Taxprep Cloud is already supported.
- AI Assistant 1.0, for every firm. Tested on 693 practice returns in TaxCycle before release: 692 went in whole, and 94,635 of 94,637 numbers were entered.
- DT Max and Taxprep Cloud now reach every firm, not only early access.
- TaxCycle: a returning client's new year is carried forward from last year's return instead of starting blank, and a send that finished but answered slowly shows as sent, never as an error.
- ProFile: creating a return now reaches 2024 and earlier years, and a slip row that already holds another slip is never typed over.
- Every program: a broker's purchase confirmations are no longer sent as sales, and a municipal tax bill is no longer sent as rent.
- Taxprep Cloud support. AI Assistant finds the client's return by SIN, or creates it, imports the figures through Taxprep Cloud's own import in your browser, and reads every value back.
- DT Max support. AI Assistant enters each figure through DT Max's own keyword entry and reads it back from DT Max, finding the client or creating one when there is none.
- ProFile: a return AI Assistant creates is now saved straight away, at the location ProFile itself proposes, so it is never lost when ProFile closes.
- The Windows companion program is now called AI Assistant.
- TaxCycle: a return AI Assistant creates is now saved straight away, at the location TaxCycle itself proposes.
- ProFile: AI Assistant opens a client's saved return when it is not already open.
- ProFile: creates a new return when a client has none, filling the Info page, marital status and spouse.
- ProFile: saves the return back to its own file after every send.
- ProFile: each figure is entered straight into its field, after ProFile confirms the field's own code, and read back before it counts as done.
- ProFile support. Firms using Intuit ProFile can send a client's paperwork to their return.
- TaxCycle: a client with no return gets one created automatically when you press Send, with no extra confirmation.
- TaxCycle: couples go onto one joint return, with the spouse described on the principal's Info page.
- TaxCycle: the return is saved after every verified import, so nothing lives only in TaxCycle's memory.
- TaxCycle: AI Assistant runs TaxCycle's own Excel import for you, checking the client and tax year before it starts and confirming the result afterwards.
