Meet the team

The people building KeyGlance, the Canadian T1 tax data entry software for accounting firms: its founder, its investor and its team.

British Columbia, Canada

Founder

  • Ruddens Bosse

    Ruddens Bosse

    Founder and CEO

Ruddens leads KeyGlance and its work with the accounting firms that use it. For fourteen years Ruddens owned and ran Liberty Tax franchises at three locations in British Columbia, so the filing season is something Ruddens has lived from the preparer's side of the desk: the April rush, and the stacks of client paperwork that arrive with it.

Since 2021 Ruddens has also been managing partner of ProCharted, practice management software that helps accounting and bookkeeping firms organize their recurring seasonal work, balance their team's workload and keep billing accurate. Earlier, Ruddens spent close to seven years as an operations analyst at Xerox.

At KeyGlance, Ruddens works directly with practising accountants, runs the product on real returns and brings every gap found back to be fixed for every firm, so what KeyGlance builds is shaped by how Canadian firms actually work.

Team

  • Sam Symon

    Sam Symon

    Software Developer

Sam builds features across the KeyGlance web app and the integrations behind it, the parts of the product a firm relies on every time a return moves from upload to review.

Sam brings more than fifteen years of software development. Nine of those years were spent building electronic medical record software for clinics and healthcare providers, where private records demand the same care a client's tax file does. Before that, Sam led development teams building enterprise systems for inventory, accounts, payroll, asset management and CRM.

    Hazel Hong

    Quality Assurance

Hazel tests KeyGlance before changes reach the firms that use it. Hazel works through the product the way a preparer would, from uploading a client's documents to reviewing every figure, and files each problem found so it is fixed for every firm, not just one.

Hazel comes to quality assurance from design, with a background in graphic design, branding and UX/UI, and brings a designer's eye to how each screen reads to the person using it: whether a preparer can see at a glance what was read, where it came from and what still needs a decision.

    Noah Wideski-Khan

    Developer

Noah built the software that takes data entry off a preparer's desk: KeyGlance reads every document in a client's dropoff and enters the figures into the firm's own tax software in minutes, every number linked back to the page it came from. Every new version of AI Assistant is tested on thousands of practice returns before it reaches a firm, with that testing now scaling to tens of thousands. Noah is also KeyGlance's designated privacy officer.
